Modular & RV Trailers Axle Systems
Hexagonal Rubber Suspension Axle
The AL-KO hexagonal rubber suspension is especially well suited for the safe, gentle and stress-free transport of valuable items such as animals, electronic parts, hazardous materials or furniture.
Advantage:
Increased driving comfort due to a softer suspension
Increased driving safety due to high inherent damping
Each wheel has independent suspension
No damage possible to the wheel housing
The suspension is maintenance-free
Mechanical drum brakes
Greater ride comfort: Thanks to smooth, jerk-free braking
Lower maintenance costs: Due to extended service intervals and dispensing with the first workshop visit after 650 miles
No requirement to present to the inspection authorities once again following installation
Shock
Absorber(Selection)
For a long time drivers have been worried about trailer vibrations on uneven roads. Until now, conventional standard shock absorbers have barely delivered a noticeable improvement on driving safety. They are designed for a weight range that is too large (for example 0 to 4.0 t). Optimum damping was only achieved at medium trailer weights (2.0 t). Damping in the lower weight range is excessive, causing trailer bumps and jolts, while the damping in the upper weight range is inadequate. AL-KO Octagon axle shock absorbers on the other hand improve the trailer's drive characteristics and provide optimum damping – thanks to precise, weight based, tuning.
Advantage:
Direct reduction of dangerous jolts
Greater driving stability
Greater braking stability
Optimum ground contact
Leaf springs Axle System
We offer several complete systems where all fittings are provided. These springs are of varying styles and feature heavy quality fittings to stand up to higher loads.
Electric Drum Brakes
They provide smooth efficient braking when operated by a vehicle mounted controller, which also provides the ability for the driver to manually apply the trailer brakes independent of the tow vehicle braking system.
They are available both with and without park brake actuation and when used on trailers over 2000 kg gross trailer mass (GTM) can be activated in a break away situation to conform with the Australian Design Rule requirements.
